Straw Rice, the Unique Rice Cooking Style in NanPing City

"Straw Rice" is a very popular rice in my home town Nanping City, which the rice to be cooked in a straw bag to produce a special flavour of old straw or smell of the straw. Sounds strange right? But in China there're many this kind of "strange" food which are enjoyed by the local people.
Beside to have the rice cooked in a straw bag, the straw rice is cooked with a mixture of 3 different kind of rice so it has the taste of both the japonica rice and the stick rice, maybe that's why it's so popular in my home town because it really taste very well and you can only find it in NanPing city, the mountain region of Fujian province.
The soup which we were eating is also special. It's a soup of Tofu (Beancurd), hemerocalis citrina baroni and the pork. So you can see that Chinese eat nearlly everything, even the homerocalis citrina baroni is a toxic flower, but we'll find a solution to make it eadable 😄.
The red one in the dish is another very popular pork dish in my home town which we call it Lychee Meat. The chef will have the meat cut in a special way and fried after powder to make it the looking of a Lychee, with sweet and sour sauce, it also has the taste of a Lychee.
